Egyptian Rules of Tug O War

​

  • Two teams made up of how many members you'd like standing opposite rows of each other 

  • The first player of each row holds each others hands while pulling back on each other

  • The other team members of each team hold each other by the waist and try to pull back the other team towards them

  • The first members of each team have one of their feet supported by their competitors

  • This sport is still practiced in the Egyptian countryside

 

World Games Rules of Tug of War​

  • Equipment needed: The rope, the arena (usually measuring a minimum of 60 meters by 12 meters), dressing rooms, control of events (tables and chairs for officials), and scales

  • Officials Job: "Pick Up the Rope"> "Take the Strain"> "Rope Must Be Tight"> "Pull"

  • One team attempts to pull the other across the center line
